Guan Zhao-Zhi Award was established in 1994 to memorize and honor Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi and to promote the development of control theory in China. Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi (Kwan Chao-Chih) was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a world famous mathematician and expert on control theory. He dedicated his whole life to the research and development of mathematics, and systems and control science, and made significant contributions to these fields.

Eligibility:

The first author must be under 40 years old at the time when the paper is submitted.

The results of the papers must be original, not published elsewhere.

Important Information:

If the paper is selected into the final list, you will be asked to provide a scanned copy of your ID card (or passport, etc.), which verifies your age.

There will be a regular session for GZZ Award on the first day of the conference. Papers in the finalist must be presented in the GZZ award session. Papers not presented in the GZZ award session will be disqualified from the award competition.

Awarding Rules for the Guan Zhao-Zhi Award

Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi (Kwan Chao-Chih) was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a world famous mathematician and expert on control theory. He dedicated his whole life to the research and development of mathematics as well as systems and control science, and made significant contributions to these fields. To memorize and honor Professor Guan Zhao-Zhi and to promote the development of control theory in China, the Guan Zhao-Zhi Award was established in 1994.

The Guan Zhao-Zhi Award is supported by the GuanZhao-Zhi Fund, which is supported by the donations from organizations and individuals in and out of China and is managed by the Guan Zhao-Zhi Fund Committee. The Fund Committee is organized by the Technical Committee on Control Theory (TCCT), Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) that consists of one or two chairs, one or two vice-chairs, and several members. The main duties of the Committee are to raise and manage funds, and to determine other issues related to the Award.

The paper must be submitted to the annual Chinese Control Conference (CCC), sponsored by TCCT, CAA;

The first author of the paper must be under 40 years old at the time when the paper was submitted;

The results of the papers must be original, not published elsewhere;

Application for the Guan Zhao-Zhi Award must be clearly indicated and a copy of the ID Card of the first Author must be attached when the paper is submitted.

The Evaluation Committee (EC) of Guan Zhao-Zhi Award is formed by invitation only by the Guan Zhao-Zhi Fund Committee, and is consisted of well-recognized experts in systems and control. If a committee member is the author or co-author of the paper applying for the Guan Zhao-Zhi Award, he or she must avoid the evaluation process. In case less than two-thirds of EV members attend the CCC of the year, with the approval of the Chairs of both EC and TCCT, other available experts will be invited to serve as EC members for the year.

The papers applying for the Guan Zhao-Zhi Award will first pass the review process as the regular submissions. Then EC will select the Final List of candidate papers. The candidate papers in the Final List have to be presented at CCC by the first authors. Finally, according to the papers' qualities and presentations, EC will decide the Winner(s) of Guan Zhao-Zhi Award.

The Guan Zhao-Zhi Award will be given to no more than two papers at each CCC, and the winner award will be given at the closing ceremony of CCC. In special cases, EC may add the Guan Zhao-Zhi Nomination Award for at most two papers.

The right of explanation and modification of this document belongs to the Guan Zhao-Zhi Fund Committee.
